Task analysis

Task analysis data collection with prompt levels

Chain a skill into ordered steps, tap the prompt level reached on each step, and see the percent done independently as you go. Build the task analysis once in the library and reuse it for every client.

Progress through the chain, session by session

The percent of steps done independently is plotted on the goal’s graph. This is a sample with made-up data.

Chaining, scored step by step

Everything from building the chain to graphing progress through it.

Ordered steps

Build a task analysis of ordered steps in the program library, and assign it to a client as a chaining goal.

Tap the prompt level reached

For each step, tap the level of prompting it needed. Independent counts as correct, and any prompt counts as not yet independent.

A live percent independent

A running tally of steps done independently out of the steps scored, with the percent, updates as you tap.

A library you reuse

Keep task analyses in a library and reuse them across clients instead of rebuilding them.

On the goal’s graph

The percent independent for each session is plotted on the goal’s graph, and each step can be viewed on its own.

In the session note

The task analysis data is part of the visit’s session note, beside the rest of the session’s data.

How task analysis data collection works

  1. 1

    Build the chain

Write the steps in order in the program library, and choose the prompt levels.

  2. 2

    Assign it

Assign the task analysis to a client as a goal.

  3. 3

    Score the steps

In session, tap the prompt level reached for each step.

  4. 4

    Watch the graph

The percent independent is plotted across sessions on the goal’s graph.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as correct in a task analysis?

A step done independently counts as correct. A step that needed any prompt counts as not yet independent.

Can I reuse a task analysis for several clients?

Yes. Build it once in the library and assign it to each client who needs it.

Can I see progress on a single step?

Yes. The graph can show the goal as a whole or a single step.
